Are you ready for college? It is never too early to start preparing for your future as an educator. One aspect of preparation includes apply for free money, a.k.a scholarships. So grab a pen and notebook and take notes. Here are some helpful tips to us when applying for scholarships!

Where can you find scholarships? Online, for free! Just click.

Many more scholarship sites are out there, just look! Additional scholarship information can be found in the Scholarships discussion group! Also, make sure to check out your local paper or visit your school’s advisor for local scholarship application information.

What to include in an application:

Community Service Involvement
Extracurricular Activities
GPA
Academic Awards Received
You will usually be asked to include an essay as well

Steps in obtain a letter of recommendation:

Choose a teacher, family friend, or boss to write a letter of recommendation for you.
Ask them early! Not right before the scholarship deadline.
Give your recommender your resume and additional helpful information.
Say thank you!
